Jon Bennett has worn many hats throughout his career – Campus ministry director, Associate pastor at a Church of 8000, Church planter, nonprofit leader, consultant, strategist, problem solver, coach and starter of stuff. As a result, his keen insight gives him the ability to see potential in challenges and opportunity in people.
Jon is a communicator, leadership coach, author and has worked with some of the fastest growing and most dynamic churches and ministries in America. With decades of experience, Jon has partnered with leaders to raise millions of dollars for church building expansions, outreach programs on college campuses, and has been integral in seeing dozens of 501c3 ministries fully funded.
After 20 years of Pastoral ministry, Jon transitioned to become Senior Consultant with a financial services group and coached over 50 Churches through a capital campaign process resulting in millions of dollars raised. Building on that foundation, Jon was called on to help Ministry Ventures scale across the nation in 2011.
As the CEO of Ministry Ventures, he led a team that simplified the “business side” of faith-based non-profits. Jon’s team saw the incredible opportunity to enhance the effectiveness of causes and ministries in ways that any leader can implement easily and immediately. That impact resulted in coaching 13 ministries in 2011 to 365 in 2016 in the five years under Jon’s leadership.
Jon’s experience includes:
- Training 1000+ non-profit leaders,
- Certified hundreds of organizations in a 12 month “Ministry Mastery®” program
- Personal fundraising training for 450 Fellowship of Christian Athletes staff and supervisors
- Co-wrote and produced 50 videos modules of the Ministry Mastery® training platform with 50,000+ views.
Specialties include: coaching/training/speaking, really listening to problems, finding a way, strategic thinking, developing and refining the process, asking the right questions, working with non-profits to think like a for-profit, and challenging the status quo.
Jon has a degree in Communications from Michigan State University and a master’s in theology from Reformed Theological Seminary. Jon and Beth have been married for 30 years with three amazing kids and live in Atlanta.
